This concealed carry training covers:
- Handgun basics and shooting fundamentals
- Understanding how to avoid conflict and awareness of your surroundings
- The psychology of violent encounters
- The legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath)
- Home security and home defense
- Includes a gear and gadget guide that can help students concealed carry more effectively
This course is designed to ensure that participants meet the necessary standards in one session, making the process more efficient for those seeking to apply for a concealed carry permit in NJ.
Students will be allowed to qualify with one firearm. If students wish to qualify with additinal firearms, there will be a fee of $25 per additional firearm payable at the time of the class.

Mar 29, 2026I had an excellent experience taking the recent USCCA – Concealed Carry for NJ PTC course with Eric Lowmaster of High Caliber Ordnance! The presentation was clear, professional, and well organized. Eric is a vastly knowledgeable trainer, both professional and approachable/ down to earth – the best instructor ever! He created a comfortable space for the group, encouraged Q&A, and delivered all the information professionally and calmly. Eric kept the lecture session engaging by inviting open dialogue and comments on important points, esp. when emphasizing the safety and responsibility one truly needs to carry. Adhering to “meeting excellence”, he built in some appreciated breaks; this class was not death-by-PowerPoint. After the presentation, the group continued to the live holster draw lesson. To most, this was quite new skill: Eric was really clear on every step and emphasized key points. Speaking in a confident and calm tone; he ensured each person replied they understood the next task. Throughout this live fire part, under close supervision and attention, I learned all the proper techniques and safety measures. This firsthand practice session allowed me to perform confidently in this controlled and reassuring environment. Eric was patient and encouraging to each and every participant. We each took our time to shoot, never rushed, thus creating a supportive group atmosphere. Everything flowed efficiently and expertly – as the course concluded, the participants who passed (ALL OF US!) received their formal certification. At 100% success rate, this is a testament to Eric’s expertise as an impressive and accomplished Instructor. (As a certified HR instructor of instructors for interviewing, I learned a lot of pointers from his style in this course and another taken prior!) I am now further educated, confident, and prepared. Anyone in NJ looking for concealed carry weapon training, take Eric Lowmaster’s class! High Caliber Ordnance is also conveniently located in central NJ too!

Mar 25, 2026I recently completed my USCCA Concealed Carry – NJ with Eric Lowmaster the owner of High Caliber Ordnance in Sommerville, NJ. Eric provided a full in-depth training class that addressed the seriousness and the responsibility involved in carrying a firearm. Eric’s class was given in a safe, disciplined, and professional environment, ensuring that every participant understood legal aspects of carrying a firearm. The course covered critical areas including handgun basics and shooting fundamentals, understanding how to avoid conflict and awareness of your surroundings, the psychology of violent encounters, the legal aspects of using deadly force (including knowing what to do in the aftermath), home security and home defense and a gear and gadget guide which taught me how to conceal and carry more effectively. Each topic was presented with clarity using real-world examples and scenario-based discussions. Eric’s discussions reinforced the importance of sound judgment and adherence to the law. Eric made it clear that carrying a firearm is not simply a privilege. Carrying a firearm is a serious commitment that demands ongoing training, awareness, and respect for the law. You leave the class with a clear understanding of both the skills required and the responsibility of carrying a firearm.
